RESIDENTS APPRECIATE COUNTY PROJECTS

Residents of Navakholo Sub-County on Monday hosted Kakamega County Governor H.E Hon. Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya when he launched and commissioned county projects in the area. Governor Oparanya, issued five cheques each worth Shs.2.5Million for construction of ECD centers in Bushiri, Bushibo, Makhima, Buchagu and Kamuli primary schools.

The Governor also held two public participation rallies at Matiha Primary and Sidikho Secondary Schools grounds where thirty less fortunate elders received thirty mattresses and sixty blankets to compliment thirty houses built for them by the county government. Five youths groups from the sub-county got each a water pump machine and a 1,500 litre tank. The five youths groups are Butsotso Investors Self Help Group (Ingotse/Matia Ward), Moni Junction Youths Group (Butsotso West Ward), Tumaini Youth Group (Bunyala central Ward), Musagu Motorbikes Self help Youth Group (Bunyala East Ward) and Action Against Poverty Youth Group (Bunyala West Ward). This, the Governor said will enable the elders to equally live a decent life and the youths to engage in agribusiness or car wash activities within the county.

It was also a day that saw businessmen at Nambacha open air market fill the air with ululations as Governor Oparanya launched the construction of a modern market for them at a cost of Shs.41Million.
