This morning a team from the National Budget and Appropriation Committee led by Hon. Mary Emaase paid a courtesy call on H.E Governor Fernandes Barasa at his office.

The team is in kakamega for a public participation which aims at engaging the local leadership and stakeholders to ensure transparency and accountability in the budgeting process. The committee also aimed at gathering insights from the Governor’s perspective on budget priorities and public needs in Kakamega.

In his remarks, Governor Barasa appreciated the committee’s dedication to public participation.

He also said public participation has been integral to the counties’ budgeting process. The county engages with communities, stakeholders, and local leaders to gather feedback and incorporate citizen priorities into the budget plans.

The team thanked the Governor for his valuable insights and thanked him for his commitment to inclusive governance. They described the visit as critical in underscoring the importance of collaboration between national and county levels of government in advancing development agenda.

Also present was Hon. Aseka Miradi (MP Khwisero) , Hon. Benard Shinali (MP Ikolomani) among other senior government officials.
