The day’s efforts by H.E FCPA Fernandes Barasa in advancing infrastructural development of Shinyalu Sub-County concluded at Ingolomosio Church open field, where he engaged with the residents of Isukha North following the launch of the Ingolomosio – Ingolomosio Stream – Nandamanywa Road in the Ward.
At the venue, the Governor elaborated on his transformative programs for the region, including rural electrification, in collaboration with the National Government. The president, H.E William Ruto, has pledged over Ksh. 300 million for this initiative.
To address the energy demand further and in complimenting the National Government’s efforts, the County Government of Kakamega is set to partner with Hydrobox, a Belgian energy generation company, to produce eco-friendly and affordable power. The company, together with the County, is currently conducting a feasibility study which will be followed by the official signing of an MoU.
The County is also working on the completion of Madala Tea Factory, which will serve the area’s tea farmers. Already positive talks have been held with various partners including KTDA and the progress is at an advanced level.
Lastly, Governor Barasa’s administration will be distributing subsidized fertilizer and maize seeds to farmers in a week’s time in the entire County. This, together with the road projects that have been launched, will fortify the #FoodSecurity pillar.
Present were MCAs led by the Deputy Speaker Hon. Benard Shitiabayi and the host Hon. Lemina Lanziva, other County Officials including CECMs, COS, COs, Advisors, Administrators and members of the public.
