Koyonzo Ward embodies the essence of Kakamega County’s Food Security pillar, boasting fertile agricultural soils that can reach their full potential with a robust transport network. To bolster this, H.E FCPA Fernandes Barasa launched the Akiti Okiya – River Nzoia Road this afternoon.

The Governor urged the management of Mumias Sugar Company to prioritize the welfare of Kakamega farmers and the residents by providing employment opportunities. He also emphasized the need for fair compensation to farmers who have now embraced sugarcane farming.

Present were MCAs led by the area representative Hon. Donald Okumu, Roots Party Leader Hon. George Wajackoyah, and officials from the County Executive.
