H.E Governor FCPA Fernandes Barasa welcomed a delegation from The African Canadian Continuing Education Society (ACCES Kenya); an organization that offers full scholarships for university education to needy students who performed well in their KCSE.
Governor Barasa commended the team for ensuring the program’s impact is felt throughout Kakamega, at the same time affirming the County Government’s support for the initiative.
He noted that the program, which funded scholarships to a tune of Ksh. 10.4 million this Financial Year, complements the county’s bursary fund of Ksh. 4 million per ward and Ksh. 40 million scholarship fund aimed at supporting students from vulnerable families.
The Governor also called for the inclusion of all former ACCESS Kenya beneficiaries to help expand the program’s reach.
Leading the delegation was ACCES Kenya Executive Director, Kevin Fadum.
