H.E. Governor FCPA Fernandes Barasa today commissioned the Shibembe ECDE Centre at Shibembe Primary School in Shinoyi/Shikomari/Esumeiya Ward, Navakholo Sub-County.
The new facility has two classrooms, an office, a kitchen, washrooms and a rest room for children. It will provide a safe and comfortable learning environment for young learners.
The project is part of the County Governmentβs investment in early childhood education across Kakamega County, where more than 60 ECDE centres are at different stages of construction.
Speaking during the event, the Governor said his administration remains committed to improving early childhood education as the foundation of learning.
He also announced several development projects in the area, including the construction of Bumamu Health Centre, the establishment of Masinga Polytechnic, the upgrading of Shiyongo Dispensary to a health centre, the construction of Ebusangavia Bridge, the opening of Mukangu Market, and the disbursement of bursaries to Grade 10 students starting next week.
The event was attended by Members of the County Assembly led by area MCA Boniface Akosi and County Executive Committee Members including CECM for Education, Science and Technology Benard Amwayi and his Public and County Administration counterpart Dr. Bonface Okoth.
