Quality education remains a cornerstone in H.E FCPA Fernandes Barasa’s development agenda for Kakamega County.
In keeping this spirit alive, the Governor today attended a thanksgiving ceremony of Moi Girls’ High School – Nangili in Likuyani Sub-County, following their commendable performance in the 2023 KCSE results.
The school secured the second position in the county with a mean score of 8.63, a significant improvement from 2022’s 7.86, securing direct entry into university for 235 (97.5%) students from the total 241 learners.
Addressing the students, parents and other education stakeholders at the school, the Governor encouraged students who didn’t qualify for university admission to consider joining County Polytechnics, as the centres are now more equipped in terms of human resource and infrastructural development.
He also highlighted on the County Government’s milestones in the education sector, including construction of 25 Centers of Excellence, upgrade of infrastructure for 26 secondary schools, and the recent launch of a Ksh. 240 million bursary program.
Present were the area MP Hon. Innocent Mugabe, all Likuyani MCAs alongside their colleagues from the Assembly and Officials from National and County Governments.
