H.E FCPA Fernandes Barasa today met the top leadership of Equity Bank Group led by Mr. Samuel Makome, the Group Chief Commercial Officer, representing the Group CEO, Dr. James Mwangi, in a bid to seek collaboration with the financial institution on the upcoming Kakamega International Investment Conference, #𝗞𝗔𝗜𝗜𝗖𝗢𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰.
The meeting also centered on creating a long-term public-private relationship with the bank to enhance the Governor’s development Agenda for the people of Kakamega County.
Governor Barasa appreciated the bank’s strategy dubbed 𝑨𝒇𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝑹𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒏 (ARRP) whose first pillar is Agriculture, with the financial institution aiming at supporting programs and various value chains in the Agricultural sector.
In addition to assuring Equity bank’s support towards sponsoring the upcoming International Investment Conference scheduled for 19th-22nd March as key partner, Mr. Makome articulated the bank’s plan to open a branch in Malava, following the County Government’s deliberate move to elevate the township to a Municipality.
Accompanying the Governor was the Deputy Governor Hon Ayub Savula, CEO KCIDA Ms. Elizabeth Asichi, Chief Officers Mr Saxon Kweyu (Industrialization) and Mr. Aden Shakir (Trade), among other officers.
