This morning, H.E. Governor FCPA Fernandes Barasa, OGW, attended a Thanksgiving Mass at St. Maryโ€™s Catholic Church โ€“ Lunywenywe Sub-Parish in Lwandeti, Lugari Sub-County, alongside area MP Hon. Nabii Nabwera.

In his address, Governor Barasa reiterated his commitment to inclusive agricultural support, announcing that vulnerable households in Lugari and the remaining sub-counties of Likuyani, Mumias East, Navakholo, Khwisero, Shinyalu, Ikolomani, and Malava will receive free fertilizer and maize seeds this week under the County Government’s Free Farm Input Distribution Programme. He emphasized that Lugari and Likuyani are among the countryโ€™s key food baskets from the Western region. He also noted that the Lugari Maize Milling Plant will be commissioned this year.

On infrastructure and healthcare development, Governor Barasa stated that the Lumakandaโ€“Manyonyi Road upgrade is ongoing and will soon be ready for commissioning. He confirmed that the Lwandeti ECDE Centre is complete, while Maturu Dispensary has been elevated to a health center, with its new maternity wing complete and soon to be equipped and commissioned.

He was accompanied by MCAs led by Majority Chief Whip Hon. Benard Mulama and Minority Chief Whip Hon. Titus Kwoma, host MCA Hon. Dan Mukhwami, and a team of County Executives led by CECM for Lands, Housing, Urban Areas, and Physical Planning, Ms. Angela Silima Muchai.
