H.E. Governor FCPA Fernandes Barasa joined the faithful at the Holy Spirit Bulimbo Catholic Church in Matungu Sub-county for a solemn Easter Sunday service.

In his address, Governor Barasa urged Christian faithful to reflect on the true meaning of Easter โ€” a season of hope, renewal, and compassion. โ€œAs we celebrate Easter, may we be inspired to uplift one another, act with compassion, and build communities rooted in unity and purpose,โ€ he said. He called on the faithful to embrace values that promote peace, love, and shared prosperity, adding that unity among citizens is key to transforming lives at the grassroots.

The Governor also highlighted key milestones in his administrationโ€™s development agenda. He informed residents that all Level 2 and 3 health facilities across Kakamega County received a Ksh. 50 million consignment of drugs and non-pharmaceuticals last week โ€” a boost to the ongoing efforts to enhance access to quality healthcare. He further announced that the construction of the Khalaba Bridge is set to resume this year, a move expected to improve mobility and open up economic opportunities in the region.

Also present at the service were First Lady Prof. Janet Kassilly Barasa, MCAs led by Majority Leader CPA Philip Maina, host MCA Hon. Osama Tingli, Hon. Bonface Osanga of Khalaba, and members of the County Executive.
