Kakamega Governor H.E. FCPA Fernandes Barasa has condemned the rising incidences of insecurity in the country, saying it is unacceptable that people’s lives continue to be lost through brutal killings. The Governor called on the Ministry of Interior and security agencies to act swiftly to ensure the safety of people and property.
He spoke during the funeral of the late Mwalimu Evans Vulimu Ambaka at Seregeya Primary School grounds in Likuyani Constituency. The teacher was brutally murdered by unknown attackers on the night of May 9th. His death came just days after the killing of Madam Roselyda Akinyi, who was attacked after withdrawing money in Mumias. Governor Barasa condoled with the family and the education fraternity, calling for quick investigations.
He also promised to complete the ECDE classroom at Kambi Mapesa Primary School within six months and revealed plans to build a textile factory in Likuyani in the next financial year.
He was accompanied by area MP Hon. Innocent Mugabe, MCAs, and members of the Executive.
