The Isasala Bridge will be constructed following an inspection exercise by H.E. Governor FCPA Fernandes Barasa this afternoon. The bridge, located along the Eshisiruโ€“Navakholo Road, connects Lurambi and Navakholo constituencies and has been rendered dangerous by the recent heavy rains that have eroded parts of the riverbanks.
Although the bridge falls under the mandate of the Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA), Governor Barasa announced that the County Government of Kakamega will intervene and reconstruct it as an emergency measure. He stressed that โ€œsafety cannot waitโ€ and committed to safeguarding the lives of residents by ensuring reliable transport across the county.
Governor Barasa was accompanied by MCAs led by Hon. Sebastian Mangโ€™eni and County Executive Members led by the CECM for Roads, Architect Patrick Kundu.
