This afternoon, H.E. Governor FCPA Fernandes Barasa inspected the ongoing construction of Marakusi Dispensary in Lugari Sub-County, which is now 80 percent complete. The project, which is part of the Governor’s agenda to strengthen primary healthcare across Kakamega, will soon serve hundreds of families in the area by offering quality and accessible medical services.
The new facility will be well-equipped with a modern laboratory and a maternity wing. Once completed, the dispensary will be upgraded to a health center status to offer more comprehensive services, including maternal and child healthcare, outpatient, and diagnostic services. This investment highlights Governor Barasa’s commitment to ensuring that no resident walks long distances in search of healthcare.
Governor Barasa was accompanied by his Deputy, Hon. Ayub Savula, Members of the County Assembly, County Executives, and other senior officials, who expressed their support for the Governor’s transformative agenda in the health sector. The leaders noted that the facility will greatly reduce the burden on referral hospitals, improve health outcomes, and bring dignity to the people of Lugari.
