Education remains at the heart of Governor FCPA Fernandes Barasaโ€™s vision for a prosperous Kakamega County. Quality Education for All is one of the key pillars of his six-point development agenda.
Under this pillar, Governor Barasa is investing in bursaries for needy students, expanding ECDE infrastructure, and equipping vocational training centres to prepare the youth for the future.
This afternoon, Governor Barasa graced the Annual General Meeting and Prize Giving Day at St. Charles’ Khalaba Secondary School in Matungu Sub-county. He commended the school for its improved academic performance and assured the community of his continued support.
Addressing parents, teachers, and students, Governor Barasa reiterated his commitment to making education both accessible and impactful. He announced that bursary disbursements for bright and needy learners will begin next month, offering much-needed relief to struggling families.
โ€œEducation is the equaliser. We are determined to ensure that no child is left behind, regardless of where they come from,โ€ said the Governor.
Governor Barasa also took the opportunity to highlight his administrationโ€™s active plan to strengthen the education sector, from expanding early childhood learning centres to modernizing youth polytechnics, noting that these investments are critical to unlocking opportunities and building impactful change.
Present were area MCA Hon. Bonface Osanga, County Executives, among other officials.
