H.E. Governor Dr. Fernandes Barasa, FCPA, this morning joined worshippers for a Holy Mass at St. Magdalene Catholic Church in Sinoko Ward, Likuyani Sub-County, before participating in a fundraiser to support the completion of the church’s new sanctuary.
Addressing the congregants, the Governor highlighted key development projects being implemented by the County Government in the sub-county, noting that the Nzoia – Spencon – Kona Mbaya Road has already been budgeted for, with construction set to commence soon to enhance connectivity and support local economic activities.
Governor Barasa also hailed the strong partnership between the County and National Governments, citing significant progress at the County Aggregation Industrial Park in Likuyani, a flagship project under the collaboration. Once complete, the industrial park is expected to create employment opportunities, spur industrialisation, and drive wealth creation in the region.
He further noted progress in the health, education, and water sectors, citing the completion of the 70-bed capacity ultra-modern maternity wing at Likuyani Level IV Hospital, as well as ECDE centres such as Mapera ECDE Centre and others ongoing. In the water sector, the County Government is now focusing on last-mile connectivity for projects, for instance, the Matunda Water Project to ensure more households access clean and reliable water.
The Governor was accompanied by Likuyani MP Hon. Innocent Mugabe, MCAs led by the host and Area MCA Hon. Antony Mix, and the Executive coordinated by CECM Trade, Industrialization and Tourism Mr. Godfrey Owori and other officials.
