KAKAMEGA VALIDATING CHILDREN POLICY

Kakamega Deputy Governor H.E Hon. Ayub Savula on Tuesday participated in an ongoing two day seminar convened to validate Kakamega County Children Policy aimed at promoting the rights and welfare of the juveniles in Kakamega County.

In his address, the Deputy Governor said the Policy is well thought of since it intends to ensure children are growing up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care and taking action to enable all children have the best life chances.

Hon. Savula added that it will greatly supplement what the National Government is doing under the Department of Children Services.

Formulation of the Policy commenced in 2013 and has had the involvement of the National Government, Non Governmental Organisations such as World Vision, International Committee for the Development of Peoples (CISP) and Anglican Development Service (ADS) among other stakeholders.

The Policy has been spearheaded by the County Ministry of Social Services, Sports, Youth, Women Empowerment and Culture.
