BE FAIR AND IMPARTIAL IN YOUR DUTIES – AMB. OCHAMI

Kakamega County Outgoing County Secretary and Head of Public Service CPA Amb James Ochami has implored members of the County Human Resource Advisory Committee for Kakamega County Revenue Agency (KCRA) to exercise fairness and impartiality while executing their mandate in the interests of natural justice to both staff and their employer, the County Government.

Amb. Ochami made the remarks after opening a three day induction workshop for the Committee members, a committee which is domiciled at the Agency, set up on behalf of the County Human Resource Sub-Committee on Discipline to expedite disposal of discipline cases emanating from the Agency.

The CS noted that discipline is key for staff in any organisation and reminded the Committee to regularly make reference to the Employment Act during discharge of their mandate.

Mr. Omukoko a Member of the County Public Service Board in charge of discipline made an elaborate presentation on the disciplinary process as guided by the County Public Service Board.

The Outgoing Chief Officer for Public Service and Administration Col (Rtd) Job Akhulia took the committee through its Terms of Reference and reminded County officers who are not mandated to collect revenue to keep off the task but freely share with the revenue officers about any collectable revenue across the County.

Chief Revenue Administrator Aggrey Musindalo on his part informed the committee on the four pillars embraced by the Agency on culture change in tandem with H.E FCPA Governor Fernandes Barasa’s policy on revenue collection. The four, he mentioned, are; Ethics, integrity & discipline, Automation, Capacity building and Effectiveness and efficiency in revenue collection.
