A delagation from Farm Africa led by Dr. Tom Cadagon paid a courtesy call to the County leadership led by County Secretary and Head of Public Service, Dr. Lawrence Omuhaka, to discuss expediting an MOU between the County Government and the organisation.

Farm Africa plans to launch a 5-year Youth in Sustainable Aquaculture (YISA) program across six counties, aligning with Governor Barasa’s goals for Food Security and Wealth Creation.

Mr. Omuhaka expressed gratitude for the project, emphasizing the County’s commitment to supporting youth initiatives amidst national concerns.

The program, supported by the Mastercard Foundation and executed by Farm Africa(Lead patner)in collaboration with other partners like Lattice Aqua, Echo Network Africa, Hydrovictoria, Ramogi Institute and living woods aims to train 150,000 youths in fish and soya bean production and marketing.

It will provide technical and business development skills training and catalytic funds for enterprise development.

Also present were Chief Officers Emmanuel Kariuki (Agriculture), Jessica Weku (Livestock), Bill Silingi (Cooperatives), Dr. Barack Otieno (Resource Mobilization), as well as Elizabeth Asichi (KCIDA CEO) and representatives from Farm Africa and other partners.
