GOVERNOR BARASA MOURNS MAMA PAULINA ACHOLO IN LUBINU/LUSHEYA
H.E. Governor FCPA Fernandes Barasa this afternoon joined the family, friends, and residents of Ebukalama community in Lubinu Lusheya Ward, Mumias East Sub-County, to mourn the passing of Mama Paulina Acholo.
The Governor extended his condolences, describing Mama Paulina as a remarkable woman whose service greatly impacted the community. She was the mother to Father Boniface Ifire of the Catholic Diocese of Kakamega.
In his address Governor Barasa praised Mama Paulina as a compassionate midwife who dedicated her life to serving mothers and children. He highlighted her pioneering role in establishing Lusheya Health Centre, noting that her contributions to community health will remain a lasting legacy.
The Governor also briefed the residents on ongoing county development projects in the Ward, including the Lwasambi ECDE Centre and Shibinga Modern Market, both nearing completion to improve early learning and local economic growth.
The funeral service was presided over by the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Kakamega, Rt. Rev. Joseph Obanyi Sagwe. Governor Barasa was accompanied by Members of the County Assembly led by area MCA Hon. Timothy Wanzetse, County Executive Committee Members including CECM for Public Service and County Administration Dr. Boniface Okoth, and other county leaders.
