H.E. Governor FCPA Dr. Fernandes Barasa this evening hosted Muslim faithful from across Kakamega County for an Iftar dinner held at Golf Hotel in Kakamega Town.

The gathering brought together members of the Muslim community to observe the breaking of the fast and reflect on the values of prayer, charity, and unity.

The faithful were led by the Chairman of the Council of Imams and Preachers of Kenya (CIPK) Kakamega County chapter, Sheikh Idris Luvale, who thanked the county leadership for standing in solidarity with the Muslim community and supporting initiatives that promote peaceful coexistence and interfaith harmony.

Speaking during the occasion, Governor Barasa commended the Muslim faithful for their devotion and discipline, noting that the period encourages compassion, generosity, and service to humanity while strengthening community bonds.

The Iftar dinner also provided an opportunity for engagement between the County Government and the Muslim community on matters of social welfare, empowerment, and inclusive governance.
