LAND STAKEHOLDERS COMMIT TO STRENGTHEN SERVICE DELIVERY AND LAND MANAGEMENT IN KAKAMEGA

The County Government of Kakamega, convened a consultative breakfast meeting bringing together key institutions in the land sector to strengthen collaboration and support for the development agenda of H. E. FCPA Governor Fernandes Barasa.

The meeting, chaired by the CECM for Lands, Housing, Urban Areas and Physical Planning, Ms. Angela Muchai, brought together representatives from the National Land Commission, the Land Registry, Survey Department, Land Adjudication, Land Administration, Housing and Physical Planning departments.

Speaking during the meeting, Ms. Muchai underscored the importance of coordinated efforts in improving land administration, attracting investment, safeguarding public land and enhancing service delivery to residents. She noted that effective inter-agency collaboration is critical to achieving sustainable development and accelerating economic growth.

The stakeholders resolved to work closely in key areas including digitization of land records, expedited processing of land titles, resolution of land disputes, protection of public land, improved survey and mapping services, enhanced urban planning and increased collection of land-based revenues.

The initiative aligns with Governor Barasa’s vision of promoting Good Governance and Wealth Creation which will be characterized by urban transformation, affordable housing and infrastructure development; facilitated by efficient land management and improved delivery of auxiliary services.
