H.E Governor Dr. Fernandes Barasa’s close working relationship with the National Government continues to drive development in Kakamega County.

The construction of the Kakamega County Teaching and Referral Hospital is progressing well and remains on course for completion by December this year.

Being implemented through a partnership between the National and County Governments, the facility is set to become a major referral hub serving the Western region and beyond. The steady progress reflects strong cooperation between the two levels of government, which has helped keep the project on track.

Once completed, the hospital will improve access to specialised healthcare services for residents of Kakamega and surrounding counties.

Beyond expanding healthcare services, the facility is expected to create employment opportunities for more than 5,000 people, making it a major investment in both health and economic growth.

This progress demonstrates the value of working together in delivering key development projects that directly benefit citizens.

Working together is delivering results. Governor Barasa is focused on service delivery.
