ADMINISTRATORS INCORPORATED INTO COVID-19 AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
The Ministry of Public Service and Administration has given a directive to all Sub County and Ward Administrators to be on the fore-front in sensitizing residents on the safety measures that should be observed to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus. The administrators have further been tasked to give daily reports on the status of the virus in their respective stations.
These directives were given by the CECM Dr. Beatrice Sabana when she met all the administrators from the 60 wards at the county government headquarters, Chambers Hall, Tuesday morning. βAs administrators you are expected to immediately form a committee that will move around the county and work closely with the national government team/s to ensure compliance to the safety measures that have been instituted by the government and report any covid-19 cases to the authorities in a timely manner,ββ Dr. Sabana said.
The CECM who also invited a team of health professionals to sensitize the administrators on their roles in mitigating infections reiterated H.E. Governor Oparanyaβs directive that all business premises and government offices should provide basic hand washing materials to ensure proper hygiene is observed.
βWe will be prepared to close down any business or office that fails to comply with these requirements as we are not ready to lose a single resident due to negligence of a business or office,ββ she said.
The meeting also addressed the County wide recruitment of members of Village Councils scheduled for Thursday and Friday this week at the ward level. The process will be conducted by the administrators, a representative from the office of Member/s of County Assembly, an opinion leader, a religious leader and a Community Area Administrator.
