COUNTY COMMITS TO ENHANCING REVENUE COLLECTION FOR EFFECTIVE SERVICE DELIVERY

Kakamega County Government Units will work collaboratively to enhance revenue collection with an aim of improving service delivery to the residents.
Speaking during a revenue stakeholders review meeting at the Chambers Hall, County Headquarters, the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Trade, Infustrialization and Tourism Mr. Godfrey Owori, reaffirmed the countyโ€™s commitment to supporting revenue officers to enable them carry out their duties. Mr Owori said the County Revenue Agency (KCRA) has put in place measures to raise the Ksh 2.2 billion revenue target for the 2025/2026 financial year, key among them sealing any existing revenue leakages.
Public Service and Administration CECM Dr. Boniface Okoth on his part emphasized the importance of interdepartmental collaboration in achieving the countyโ€™s revenue target.
The meeting brought together multisectoral leadership including County Administrators, Market Administrators, Revenue Officers, Law Enforcement Officers, Municipal Managers as well as officers from the Finance unit.
Present were Chief Officers Ms. Faith Gitira (Trade), Hon. Samuel Limisi (Economic Planning) and Mr. Ambrose Makokha (County Administration).
