COUNTY, FIPS AFRICA REVIEW PARTNERSHIP PROGRESS
The County Government of Kakamega through the convened a joint multisectoral review meeting with FIPS-Africa to assess ongoing partnerships in critical development sectors.
The discussions sparked strong interest, especially in initiatives on soil health, avocado value chains, and youth empowermentโkey drivers of inclusive growth and sustainable livelihoods that align with Governor Barasaโs food security agenda.
Mr. Mophat Mandela, the CECM for Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, Irrigation and Cooperatives thanked FIPS-Africa for being a key partner in advancing Governor Barasaโs industrialization agenda and urged young people to embrace farming as a pathway to prosperity.
On his part, the Trade CECM, Mr. Godfrey Owori, emphasized the importance of strategic partnerships in strengthening value chains and promoting inclusive economic growth across Kakamega County.
In partnership with the county, FIPS-Africa has reached 71,200 farmers across Kakamega, positively transforming rural livelihoods.
Also present were Chief Officers; Mr Daniel Sumba, Cooperatives, Christine Oside, Social Services, Lawrence Mukoyani, Youth and sports alongside other county officials.
