COUNTY STRENGTHENS PARTNERSHIP ON GENDER MAINSTREAMING AND GBV PREVENTION

The Ministry of Social services, under the leadership of CECM Ms. Jackline Masicha, today hosted Mr. Yusuf Abdallahi and Ms. Lilian Mulupo from the Refugee Consortium of Kenya in Kakamega for a capacity-building and stakeholder engagement session. The activity focused on advancing gender mainstreaming, promoting gender equality, and strengthening efforts toward the prevention of gender-based violence (GBV).
Speaking after receiving the visitors, the CECM appreciated the Refugee Consortium of Kenya for partnering with the County government in championing gender equality and the protection of vulnerable groups.
She underscored the importance of integrating gender perspectives in all County policies, programmes, and development initiatives to ensure inclusive and equitable growth.
The CECM reaffirmed the Countyโ€™s commitment to preventing and responding to gender-based violence through strengthened partnerships, continuous training, and community awareness programmes to foster a safe and inclusive society for all.
Also present were chief officers led by Ms. Christine Oside and director, gender services, Ms. Joyce Wafukho.
