GOVERNOR BARASA ENGAGES LUKUME RESIDENTS ON DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES
H.E. Dr. Fernandes Barasa, FCPA, this afternoon held a public engagement forum with residents of Lukume area in West Kabras Ward, Malava Sub-County, as part of the County Government’s ongoing citizen participation and accountability framework.
During the forum, the Governor highlighted key development priorities being implemented in the area. These include improvement of road infrastructure to enhance accessibility, expansion of water connectivity to increase access to clean and safe water, and provision of subsidized agricultural support to farmers. He noted that the agricultural programme is aimed at strengthening food security and improving household incomes, among other initiatives.
The Governor emphasized that his administration remains committed to people-centred development and transparent leadership.
During the meeting, Governor Barasa also called upon residents to support West Kabras Ward MCA aspirant Mr. Elphas Shalakha in the forthcoming by-election scheduled for 26th February 2026, stating that strong local leadership is important in advancing development.
Also present were the President’s aide Mr. Farouk Kibet, area Member of Parliament Hon. David Ndakwa, Members of the County Assembly, and other local leaders.
