GOVERNOR BARASA HIGHLIGHTS DEVELOPMENT PROGRESS AND CALLS FOR UNITY*

H.E. Dr. Fernandes Barasa, FCPA, has assured residents of Kisa Central Ward and Kakamega County that all ongoing and previously stalled projects will be completed by December this year. He said several ECDE centres in Khwisero Sub-County, including Ebushibungo ECDE, are already complete and will be opened when schools resume in May, showing the county’s focus on improving early learning.
Speaking at the funeral of the late Mama Rispah Khasowa Ashikoye in Mushiangubu, Kisa Central Ward, the Governor called for unity among leaders and residents. He said he will work with others to support President William Ruto, noting that working together is important for development.
He highlighted key projects such as the Misango Hills Water Project, which will bring clean water to homes in Kisa Central and nearby areas, and the Bukwala–Khukolomani tarmac road, which is already helping people move more easily. He also said the Khwisero Market project is a good example of teamwork, with the county providing land and the national government giving KSh 145 million.
The Governor added that more homes in Kakamega County will be connected to electricity under the Rural Electrification and Energy Connectivity programme. He also confirmed his support for ODM Party Leader Senator Dr. Oburu Oginga and said unity will help move the county and the country forward.
He was accompanied by MCAs and Executive Officers led by CECM Finance and ICT Mr. Benjamin Andama.
