In his address, the Governor congratulated Hon. Dr. Oburu Oginga on his ratification as Party Leader of the Orange Democratic Movement, noting that this is a key step in strengthening party unity and consolidating leadership for the future.
Today’s ODM National Delegates Convention also ratified key party officials, including Deputy Party Leaders H.E. Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir and H.E. Paul Simba Arati, alongside National Chairperson H.E. Gladys Nyasuna Wanga.
The convention further confirmed Deputy National Chairpersons Hon. Otiende Amollo and Hon. Dr. Alison Kamau, while H.E. Ahmed Abdullahi was ratified as the National Organizing Secretary, with Hon. Delegates further resolved to begin strategic talks with like-minded parties that share a common vision for Kenya’s transformation, starting with UDA, toward a pre-election agreement anchored on national development and reform.
Governor Barasa affirmed that the Western region fully supports this position and noted that the benefits of a broad-based government are already visible across key sectors. He emphasized that Kenya’s progress depends on unity, foresight, and strong partnerships, reinforcing the convention’s theme and calling on leaders and citizens to embrace collaboration as the foundation for sustainable national growth and transformation.
