KAKAMEGA COUNTY EXCELS IN NATIONAL URBAN DEVELOPMENT GRANT ASSESSMENT
Kakamega County was among 45 counties that participated in the second annual performance assessment (APA 2), conducted under the Kenya Urban Support Program (KUSP). The assessment focused on the counties’ implementation of the Urban Development Grant (UDG) in two urban centers: Mumias and Kakamega Municipalities.
The assessment team, led by the State Department of Housing and Urban Development, has been touring counties and today held an exit meeting in Kakamega with the County Government team from the Department of Lands, Housing, Urban Areas and Physical Planning, led by the CECM, Ms. Angela Muchai.
During the session, the team presented preliminary findings on the UDG, taking the County officials through the scorecard performance standards.
Closing the meeting, Ms. Muchai commended the collaborative effort displayed by the County staff throughout the assessment process. She highlighted the teamwork and dedication that ensured smooth and successful evaluation.
Also present at the meeting were Municipal Managers: Ms. Violet Ofisi (Kakamega Municipality) and Mr. Zadock Lumidi (Mumias Municipality).
