KAKAMEGA STEPS UP DEVELOPMENT PROCESS OF COUNTY ANNUAL PLAN
The County Government of Kakamega through the Ministry of Finance, Planning, ICT, E-government and Communication Tuesday convened a consultative meeting with senior County Executives; CECMs, Chief Officers, CEOs and County Budget and Economic Forum (CBEF) Members to firm up deliberations of the draft 2025-26 Financial Year Annual Development Plan (ADP). This follows a successful initial meeting attended by technical officers that saw preparation of the initial draft document.
In-charge CECM CPA Livingstone Imbayi who graced the forum on behalf of the Governor underscored the need for collaboration amongst the respective sectors to ensure proper implementation of County projects as envisioned by Governor Fernandes Barasa’s Manifesto and Six Point Pillars and reiterated his directive to the Officers to ensure completion of ongoing projects before new ones are initiated.
The Secretary of the County Budget and Economic Forum (CBEF) Members Rev. William Owuya on his part appreciated the great work being undertaken by the County Government under the leadership of of H.E. FCPA Governor Fernandes Barasa. He said the exercise was a critical process and emphasized the importance of main streaming of public inputs as has always been done.
During the meeting, it was noted that despite the growing needs, the resources have largely remained stagnant and even reduced following the rejection of the Finance Bill 2024 resulting to a huge resource gap that required support by the development partners and other public organizations to realize the priorities.
