KAKAMEGA STRENGTHENS PARTNERSHIP WITH STANBIC TO BOOST YOUTH AND SME GROWTH

A delegation from Stanbic Bank, led by the Head of Stanbic Foundation Ms. Lilian Onyanch Friday paid a courtesy call to Deputy Governor H.E. Hon. Ayub Savula at the County Headquarters.

The Deputy Governor commended the strong partnership between Stanbic Bank and the County Government, especially in supporting SMEs in the county. The Stanbic Foundation focuses on empowering youth and women through training, capacity-building and access to affordable financing ranging between Ksh 5,000-50,000 to improve their livelihoods.

In collaboration with American Towers Corporation, the financial institution has also been running a digital skills program and upgrading digital hubs in Khwisero Polytechnic (Khwisero), Kabras Polytechnic (Lugari) and Emulakha Polytechnic (Navakholo). So far, 108 students have been trained and certified in the first phase.

Hon. Savula reaffirmed the collaboration between Governor Fernandes Barasa’s administration wirh other development partners including Stanbic Foundation, noting that the signing of an MoU will pave the way for youth training and boost economic activity in line with Governor Barasaโ€™s wealth creation agenda.

Present were senior county executives led by CECMs Mr. Godfrey Owori (Trade, Industrialization and Tourism) and Dr. Bernard Amwayi (Education, Science and Technology)
