NEW MATERNITY WING AT LIKUYANI LEVEL IV HOSPITAL TO REDUCE MATERNAL AND NEONATAL MORTALITY
The ongoing construction of a modern maternity wing at Likuyani Level IV Hospital will enhance maternal and child health services in the region. Construction works at the facility valued at a cost of KSh 90 million are expected to be completed by early next year.
Health Services CECM CPA Livingston Imbayi Wednesday inspected ongoing works and reminded the contractor to observe the agreed standards and timelines. He appreciated Jacaranda Health Solutions for supporting the countyโs healthcare agenda in line with Governor Fernandes Barasa’s manifesto.
The ultra-modern unit will house key sections including Antenatal Care (ANC), Postnatal Care (PNC), Labor and Delivery rooms, a Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) unit, a fully equipped Theatre and a Newborn Unit (NBU).
Once functional, the maternity wing will significantly reduce maternal and neonatal mortality rates while improving service delivery for mothers and infants in Likuyani and surrounding areas.
