PUBLIC PARTICIPATION DRIVES COUNTY BUDGET FRAMEWORK
The County Government of Kakamega today successfully conducted public participation forums across all sub-counties on the County Fiscal Strategy Paper (CFSP) 2026/2027, in line with constitutional requirements and the Public Finance Management Act.
The exercise brought together residents, civil society organizations, faith-based institutions, private sector players, and other stakeholders to deliberate on the countyβs strategic priorities that will guide resource allocation for the Financial Year 2026/2027 and the Medium-Term Period.
Citizens were given an opportunity to submit both oral and written memoranda, ensuring their views are incorporated into the final fiscal framework.
The robust engagement underscores the administrationβs commitment to transparency, accountability, and inclusive governance.
Under the leadership of H.E Dr. FCPA Fernandes Barasa, the county continues to prioritize meaningful public involvement in decision-making processes. Governor Barasa firmly believes that development must be people-driven and that every resident deserves a voice in shaping policies and programs that impact their lives.
Through such structured public forums, the county strengthens participatory governance and ensures that no community is left behind in Kakamegaβs development journey.
