As a prime step to ensure that Tea Farming in Kakamega County supplies the upcoming Madala Tea Factory with adequate raw material, H.E FCPA Fernandes Barasa today initiated the distribution of over 400,000 tea seedlings at Ebushiname in Ikolomani Sub-County.
While touring the Sub-county, the Governor also visited several tea and maize farmers of Matioli in Lurambi Sub-County, where he reaffirmed his government’s commitment to realize the Food Security agenda by supporting all farmers across Kakamega County.
The County Government of Kakamega has undertaken numerous initiatives to advance agriculture within the region. These efforts include supporting Fish Farming by facilitating fish exports and providing subsidized feeds, promoting Apiculture and distributing early maturing and highly prolific Pigs, revitalization of the Sugar Industry, among other endeavors.
The Governor was accompanied by County Officials including MCAs and Members of the Executive.
