Women, youth, and persons with disabilities remain among the most vulnerable groups in society, often facing barriers to economic participation. Empowering these communities is key to achieving inclusive growth and sustainable development.
Today, Governor FCPA Fernandes Barasa joined national leaders at the Shinyalu Economic Empowerment Forum held at Mukumu in Shinyalu Sub-County. The event, which featured a funds drive to support local empowerment initiatives, was graced by Deputy President H.E. Prof. Kithure Kindiki, National Assembly Speaker Rt. Hon. Moses Wetangβula, Prime Cabinet Secretary H.E. Musalia Mudavadi, and Members of Parliament led by host MP Hon. Fred Ikana.
In his address,Governor Barasa reiterated his administrationβs commitment to social protection, announcing that his government will disburse KSh 60 million in grants next month to benefit women, youth, and persons with disabilities across the county. He emphasized the importance of complementing national efforts with county-level programs that uplift and economically empower marginalized groups.
