The new Lumakanda–Manyonyi Bitumen Road is already transforming Lugari Constituency by enhancing accessibility, easing the movement of goods, and opening up new opportunities for trade and investment. Residents and traders are now experiencing reduced transport costs and improved connectivity to markets, schools, and health facilities.
This afternoon, H.E. Governor FCPA Fernandes Barasa inspected the ongoing works on this transformative project as contractors finalize the remaining sections. The Governor confirmed that the road will be officially commissioned before the end of the year, marking a major boost to infrastructure development in the region.
This 8km Lumakanda–Manyonyi Road is part of over 40 kilometers of bitumen-standard roads constructed across Kakamega during the first three years of Governor Barasa’s tenure — a key milestone under his Wealth Creation and Infrastructure Development Agenda. By investing in modern road networks, the Governor is not only linking communities but also driving economic growth and social development across the county.
Also present were the Deputy Governor, Hon. Ayub Savula, Members of the County Assembly, County Executive Members, and other senior government officials.
