𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐫 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐚 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐎𝐮𝐭 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐚 𝐒𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐲𝐚𝐥𝐮

H.E. Governor FCPA Fernandes Barasa today launched the Free Tea Seedlings Distribution Program in Shinyalu Sub-county, marking a significant step in boosting tea farming in Kakamega County.

The Governor announced that 240,000 tea seedlings will be distributed across 13 tea collection centers within Shinyalu Constituency, as part of a deliberate effort to revitalize and expand the tea-growing sector.

Governor Barasa also revealed plans to break ground for the construction of the Madala Tea Factory, which will streamline harvesting and marketing for local farmers.

“We are intentional about establishing a strong tea sector in Kakamega County, which shall be anchored on the completion and operationalization of Madala Tea Factory,” he affirmed.

Present at the event were Members of the County Assembly led by Hon. Elphas Shilosio and members of the County Executive Committee led by CECM Mophat Mandela.
