6TH DEVOLUTION CONFERENCE GEARS UP FOR OFFICIAL OPENING IN KIRINYAGA COUNTY

Kakamega County exhibition stand at Kirinyaga University grounds has started receiving visitors today, a day before official opening of the 6th annual devolution conference tomorrow morning. On display are Kakamega County’s flagship projects in Agenda 4 framework including universal health coverage as well as housing and industrialization among others.

Guests from both levels of government and the private sector who visited the stand were received by designated exhibitors from several County departments as well as the County Secretary and Head of Public Service, Madam Jacinta Aluoch Odhiambo. Most of the enquiries today focused on how devolved units positioned themselves to stem rural-urban migration through appropriate strategies including stepping up industrialization and job creation for youths.

H E. President Uhuru Kenyatta will officially grace the opening ceremony with expected attendance from all the 47 county governors led by the Council of Governors (CoG) Chairman and Kakamega County Governor H.E. Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya, Senators and Members of County Assemblies among others.
