MATETE TO RECEIVE A SUBSTANTIVE ADMINSTRATOR

Plans are underway to provide Matete Area in Lugari Sub-County with a substantive Sub-County Administrator.

This was revealed by Kakamega County Governor H.E FCPA Fernandes Barasa today, Sunday, at Lumakanda Friends Church in Lugari Sub-County. The move, Governor Barasa explained, will enhance effectiveness and efficiency in service delivery to residents.

He further announced that this financial year, Members of County Assembly (MCAs), through public participation forums, will identify respective projects for implementation by the County in Education, Transport, Water, Health and Agriculture sectors.

“Lumakanda-Manyonyi all weather road is one of the County roads that we have earmarked for upgrade to bitumen standards in addition to Bahati/Mugunga bridge and Lumakanda Modern Market whose construction commences next financial year,” the County CEO revealed and reiterated his commitment to ensure completion of projects initiated by the previous administration.

Kenya Utalii College Council Chairman Hon. David Wamatsi who was also present affirmed his support to Governor Barasa’s government, his Kenya Kwanza political affiliation not withstanding. He acknowledged and thanked Governor Barasa for boldly stating his position of collaborating with the National Government for the benefit of the people.

The thanks giving mass led by Pastor Shem Kidiavai and Pastor Rajab Nalika was also attended by MCAs led by Majority Leader Hon. Philip Maina and his Deputy who is also the host MCA Hon. Benard Mulama, Chief Officers Mr. Phanuel Musasia (ICT) and Mr. Pascal Were (Public Works), Advisors Hon. Josephat Mwasame (Political) and Mr. Desterio Okumu (Economic Affairs) and Lugari Sub-County Administration led by Madam Mary Mukatia, the Sub-County Administrator.
