Lugari Ward, today received St. Gabriel – Lake basin road, being part of Kakamega County’s 10KM per Ward road projects as an enabler of Governor Barasa’s ambitious Six-Point agenda for the people of Kakamega.
At Luanda Lugari open field where the day’s activities culminated, the County engaged with the residents of Lugari Sub-County on the Governor’s development initiatives, approximately 1½ years in office, enumerating major achievements, including the pioneer Lumakanda – Manyonyi bitumen road, the enhanced Ksh 240 Million county bursary, the upcoming subsidized fertilizer, maize seeds, pesticides, and fish feeds program, among others.
Sugarcane and maize farmers, both commercial and subsistence, within the northern region will now trade with neighboring Uasin Gishu, Bungoma, and Transnzoia Counties, courtesy of good transport network.
The County also has several County Water projects in the region, including Musembe Dam in Chekalini that has a maximum capacity to serve over 5,000 residents.
Present were MCAs, officials from the Executives including CECMs, COS, COs, Advisors, Board Chairs, Ombudsman and the Administration.
