H.E. FCPA Fernandes Barasa this afternoon participated in the KCA University Foundation Charity bicycle riding event in Kakamega Town. The event, aimed at raising Ksh. 15 million to support needy and bright students from vulnerable families, was attended by KCA University staff, including Deputy Vice Chancellors Prof. Damiana Kieti and Prof. Vincent Onywera, as well as other volunteers.

The event resonates with Governor Barasa’s development agenda for Kakamega, particularly his focus on education. Governor Barasa has implemented initiatives aimed at empowering learners from vulnerable backgrounds through bursaries and scholarships.

During the event, Governor Barasa reminisced about his tenure as ICPAK chair from 2015-2017 when he also served as a board member of the University.

The event was attended by members of the executive and other County officials.
