In a positive step towards bringing water to the residents’ doorsteps, dubbed “Amatsi Khumuliango,” the Governor H.E. FCPA Fernandes Barasa welcomed H.E. President Dr. William Ruto to Namanja, Butali Chegulo Ward, Malava Sub-County, to commission the Malava Cluster Water Project, Lot III.
This project, which will produce 1.2 million liters per day and serve approximately 100,000 residents, complements other initiatives under Governor Barasa’s ambitious county water program, including Khuvasali, Malava, and Chombeli.
The County Government of Kakamega is also collaborating with the National Government to complete several key projects, including Bukhungu International Stadium, Kakamega Level-6 Hospital, Kakamega Airstrip, and, most importantly, the elevation of Kakamega Municipality to City status.
Also present were various Cabinet Secretaries led by Hon. Wycliffe Oparanya (Cooperatives and MSMEs Development), MPs led by Hon. Malulu Injendi (Malava), among others.
