Governor Barasa Expands Free Fertilizer and Maize Seeds Distribution to Butere

H.E. Governor FCPA Fernandes Barasa continued the countywide distribution of free planting fertilizer and maize seeds in Butere Sub-county, ensuring that low-income families, women, widows, and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) have access to essential farm inputs.

All sub-counties in Kakamega County will benefit from this initiative, reinforcing the government’s commitment to inclusive agricultural support and food security.

Governor Barasa noted that the Department of Social Services has identified widows, PWDs, and other deserving beneficiaries from its database, which covers all 60 wards, to ensure fairness and transparency in the program.

The event was attended by Deputy Governor Ayub Savula, MCAs led by Majority Leader CPA Philip Maina, and the County Executive led by CECM Mophat Mandela.
