Governor Barasa Rallies Executive Team to Enhance Service Delivery

This afternoon, H.E. FCPA Fernandes Barasa presided over the monthly Service Delivery Meeting, bringing together all County departments to assess the status of ongoing projects, evaluate progress, identify challenges, and develop actionable solutions across key sectorsβ€”including infrastructure, health services, development programs, and own-source revenue generation.

During the Project Status and Implementation Review, departments presented their reports up to April 2025. Governor Barasa emphasized the importance of a comprehensive commissioning plan to operationalize all completed projects across the 12 Sub-counties, ensuring residents begin to benefit from these investments immediately.

The Governor also reiterated the need to strengthen own-source revenue collection to meet the County’s annual target of KSh 2.2 billion. He noted that enhancing local revenue will help cushion the County against the frequent delays in disbursements of sharable funds from the National Treasury.

He reaffirmed that the overarching goal remains unchanged: efficient execution and impactful service delivery for the people of Kakamega County.

All members of the County Executive were present at the session.
