Governor Barasa Strengthens Partnership with Teachers to Boost Education

H.E Governor FCPA Fernandes Barasa has committed to strengthening partnerships with teachers to ensure their inclusion in decision-making on education matters across Kakamega County.

He made the remarks after hosting officials from the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Mumias Branch, led by Executive Secretary Mr. Cyprian Omukamani, at his Matungu residence. The team represented teachers from Matungu, Mumias West, and Mumias East constituencies.

Governor Barasa praised teachers as key partners in shaping the county’s future and pledged continued support for ECDE centres, vocational training, school infrastructure, and bursaries. “Teachers are the foundation of our society, and we must involve them fully in our education plans and governance,” he said.
