KAKAMEGA’S BEST FOOT FORWARD AS THE 2025 DEVOLUTION CONFERENCE KICKS OFF

Kakamega County delegation at this year’s devolution conference at Homabay High School, Homabay County are pitching for Kakamega as the best investment destination in the Lake region bloc.

County Secretary and Head of Public Service Dr Lawrence Omuhaka is leading County Executives in the lakeside county in what promises to be a memorable 4 day experience of devolved governance. The conference will officially be opened tomorrow, Wednesday, by President William Ruto who will be joined by County bosses including Kakamega’s Governor Fernandes Barasa.

At the Kakamega booth are a variety of both unique modern and traditional products, including the renowned mukombera (mondia whitei), traditional leafy vegetables, the most preferred vegetables with alot of nutritional and medicinal value resistant to drought. Kakamega is also showcasing various milestones achieved since inception of devolution in 2013 in various sectors, notably road infrastructure, water connectivity, devolved education, food security efforts and industrialization among others.
