H.E. Governor Dr. Fernandes Barasa, FCPA, OGW, has announced plans to build a County Polytechnic in Marenyo Shianda Ward to provide youth with technical training and practical skills, preparing them for employment and contributing to the county’s development.

He assured residents that all ongoing ward-based projects in health, water, education, and other sectors, including the Efiratsi Water Project and Shatsala Market in Butere Sub-County, will be completed before the end of the year. The Governor said timely completion of these projects will improve access to services and enhance livelihoods. The Governor was speaking at the funeral of his late friend and supporter, Charles Keya Shimosi, in Shikwata Village, Marenyo Shianda Ward.

Governor Barasa paid tribute to the deceased and pledged to support his widows and children. He assured the family of his support towards the children’s education, describing the commitment as the greatest honour he can give his friend in death.
