ROADS MAINTENANCE SITES IN NAVAKHOLO HANDOVER HANDED TO CONTRACTORS

Roads scheduled for routine maintenance in Navakholo sub-county have been handed over to the contractors for commencement of works.

The roads are; Buchangu–Sidikho Falls road in Bunyala Central Ward and Khaunga Junction–Namundera Friends Church road both covering a total distance of 5.6 kilometres.

The CECM for Roads, Public Works and Energy Architect Patrick Kundu oversaw the exercise and noted that the three-month maintenance programme will involve gravelling, trenching and culverts installation, with priority being given to sections serving schools, churches and other public institutions. The CECM further directed the contractor to source for labour and raw materials locally as a way of empowering the locals in line with Governor Fernandes Barasa’s wealth creation agenda.

He assured that the quality standards in addition to agreed timeframe will be adhered to. The project is expected to significantly improve communication and service delivery in the area.

Present was Bunyala Central MCA Hon. Benjamin Were and county government officers from the department of roads.
