Governor Barasa Hosts Kakamega Council of Elders Ahead of Grand Cultural Festival
This evening, H.E. Governor Dr. Fernandes Barasa, FCPA, hosted the Kakamega County Council of Elders, led by King Nabongo Peter Mumia and Chairperson Mzee Elly Simwa. The elders are drawn from all the sub-counties of Kakamega County.
The delegation briefed the Governor on preparations for the upcoming Kakamega County Annual Cultural Festival, which aims to showcase the rich diversity of our cultural heritage.
Governor Barasa recognized the vital role of culture in shaping identity and fostering unity. He reiterated the County Governmentβs commitment to supporting initiatives that preserve and promote the Luhya heritage.
Also Present were the CECM for Social Services, Youth, Sports, Gender, Culture and Library Services, Ms. Jackline Masicha, and the Political Advisor, Mr. Kassim Were.
